Plane crashes into building killing 1

A light plane has crashed into a residential building in Melbourne’s South-East, Australia, in the early hours on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Rescue team and Police are currently working at a property on The Strand in Chelsea after a light plane has crashed around 1.30 pm on Tuesday. The plane struck a house and damaged two vehicles and caught fire on impact. The Police has confirmed the death of one person, the other, a woman who was in the house at the time of the plane crash, suffers minor injury and is being treated at once The impact of the crash has shattered the plane, a residential building and two parked vehicles which caught fire. An eye witness claimed that he saw a burst of flames when the plane crashed and exploded. ‘There was a mass of flames coming out, a mass of smoke – black – coming from it,’ he explained to Fairfax Radio. Other witnesses however suggested that the pilot may have been trying to make an emergency landing.
